The healthy Bircher muesli is often referred to as the mother of muesli as we know it today. The original Bircher muesli recipe consists of just four ingredients: oats, milk, grated apple and hazelnuts. What makes it special is that the flakes are soaked overnight in water, milk or a plant-based drink in the refrigerator, making them particularly easy to digest. In the morning, an apple is grated into the mixture and grated hazelnuts are added.
