Whether you're camping in a tent somewhere in Italy, at a festival, or in the luxury of a camper van – camping is one of the most popular and cheapest ways to travel. Especially in these uncertain times, when you might not be allowed to spend your vacation in a packed all-inclusive hotel in Turkey (and besides, in our opinion, you should avoid such vacations anyway).
So camping is likely to be even more popular this year. Especially camping in Austria can be so diverse and beautiful, you don't even have to think beyond the country's borders.
But what belongs in a balanced camping breakfast without feeling overloaded? Is it even possible to have a healthy breakfast when camping? Today we will answer the most important questions and give you a few breakfast ideas to get you started, so that nothing stands in the way of your camping holiday – maybe we won't say camping anymore, but glamping instead ;-).

Preparation is the key
In general, when camping, if you are prepared, you will have fewer problems during the trip. This applies not only to rainwear, but also to breakfast. What do you like? You should find out for yourself. And you should be aware that it can be difficult to find fresh bread rolls, for example.
Our recommendation as a basis would be a porridge or maybe a muesli. This way, you always have something healthy that you can prepare fresh without much effort! Our apricot-strawberry spelt porridge or our fabulous nut-fruit Urkorn muesli are perfect for this! But with our Lower Carb Sport Granola, nothing stands in the way of an energetic day!
Porridge really is a superfood and extremely healthy. This is how regional cereals can really score points across the board. Not only do they contain many nutrients, they also help with some illnesses.
Porridge actually lowers your blood sugar and cholesterol levels. What's more, you are at lower risk of cardiovascular disease if you eat porridge regularly. What's more, a hot breakfast helps you get a perfect start to your day outdoors, especially when camping.

Opt for regional dishes
Especially when you are in other countries, it is not advantageous to take “fresh” food from home. You should always buy fruit and vegetables locally in the respective country. There are often weekly markets that offer high-quality food. And what could be better than fresh fruit to enhance your morning?
Regional fruit in particular is not only usually healthier – you are also helping the environment. When you buy local, you support the economy of the country and the farmers themselves. You also avoid long delivery routes and the process of industrial production, which is also considered an environmental pollutant.
Fresh doesn't always mean laborious
Preparing fresh products in the morning doesn't always take an incredible amount of effort! This is a misconception that often prevails. But especially at breakfast, you can fall back on fresh products without having to put everyone in an uproar. How about, for example, with overnight oats? You can easily prepare these before going to bed and leave them overnight. We will also discuss this in the next paragraph, but nuts and seeds in particular stay fresh for a long time and are perfect for any breakfast.
Seeds and nuts will make your day
Seeds and nuts are the perfect way to start your day. If you eat nuts for breakfast, you'll have a head start all day long. Not only are nuts extremely healthy, they also keep you full for a long time. Seeds are also very healthy and are suitable as a topping for any type of breakfast.
Why are nuts so healthy? Nuts are full of valuable fatty acids that are very healthy for humans. This way, you can prevent cardiovascular diseases and take care of yourself during your morning culinary excursion. They also contain many vitamins – calcium, magnesium, vitamin B. And all this in such small foods!
Variety will spice up your breakfast
Our last tip is: don't always eat the same thing! It's like everything else in life. Variety is the spice of life. So maybe one day muesli, one day crunchy and another day porridge.
